MEEC Conference 2026

The Midwest Environmental Education Consortium (MEEC) is a professional development collaboration between Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Every two years, environmental education associations from these four states come together for hands-on learning and professional development focused on environmental, cultural, and historical education.

Our theme for 2026, Rooted in Hope, is all about bringing more hope and joy into environmental education.

Together, we’ll explore the healing power of nature, move beyond fear-based approaches, and focus on meaningful, solution-oriented ways to engage with environmental challenges.

Through learning, curiosity, and collaboration, we hope participants leave feeling renewed, connected, and inspired to bring hope back to their classrooms, programs, communities, and everyday lives.
