The Minnesota Association for Environmental Education is a volunteer run organization that gets much of its support from our incredible Board Members. As a non-profit organization, the MAEE Board of Directors sets the strategic direction of the organization, manages finances, fundraises for the organization, oversees staff members, represents the organization, and monitors and evaluates the activities of the organization.

Advocating for Stronger Environmental Education Policies

MAEE actively supports key legislation at both state and national levels that strengthens environmental education. Our efforts focus on policies that secure funding, expand program access, and integrate environmental literacy into school curricula across Minnesota.
We collaborate with partners like NAAEE to promote federal initiatives such as the Every Student Succeeds Act, which includes provisions for environmental education funding. Locally, MAEE engages with lawmakers and community members to ensure environmental education remains a priority in Minnesota’s education system.
